A 13 year old Boston Terrier dog named Sam survived a terrifying fall from the 15th floor balcony of his owner’s condo, one of the tallest high-rises in Sacramento, USA!

The Sacramento Bee newspaper reported that the little Boston Terrier has been very lucky to end up his fall in the middle of a hot tub to survive this tragedy! After his fall, he suffered five broken ribs and several fractures to his pelvis and he has been recovering at an animal hospital since Monday, December 22, 2014. The animal hospital estimated that it’s going to take only six to eight weeks for him to recover.

Sam’s owner’s mom watches Sam during the day while her son is at work. She told The Sacramento Bee that she thought he had gotten down the stairs, but soon realized he could only have slipped through the balcony’s railing.

Sam’s owner, Bill McCourt, told the newspaper, “Whenever I tell someone what happened, they keep saying, ‘The 15th floor? Are you sure it was the 15th floor?’ because no one can believe it. They’re completely amazed.” “It’s just ridiculous luck. I mean, there’s just no other way about it. I just want to get him home. He’s a huge part of my family.”

Bill McCourt had Sam since he was a 5-week-old puppy. He said “His balcony days are over. He’s going to have to sit by the door from now on, though, if I were him, I don’t think I’d be running back out there again.”

My Boston is13 and doesn’t always think before she runs out the door. She has only 1eye due to a tumor 5 years ago and is still going strong. So glad the angles were watching over your pal. Praying for speedy recovery.
