The Boston terriers and the Pugs have almost the same body size, a short-muzzled face with a large and square head shaped.

Other Similitudes Between Bosties and Pugs

The two breeds cannot live outdoors all the time. Boston Terriers and Pugs don’t tolerate extreme weather. They don’t tolerate extremely cold weather because of their short coat. They don’t tolerate extremely hot weather due to their shortened muzzle.

Both breed only needs a minimal grooming. Both breed don’t bark a lot. They generally only bark when necessary.

The Boston Terrier (Bostie, Boston Bull…) Breed originated in the United States and is a cross of an English bulldog with a white English terrier.

Boston Terrier Standards

According to the Boston Terrier breed standards, Boston Terriers weighs from 10 to 25 pounds. Boston Terriers are muscled, longer-legged, athletic and small boned. Boston Terriers have flat cheeks with an unwrinkled face. Boston Terriers have upright ears that are pointed at the tips. Their life span is around 11 to 15 years.

The Boston Terrier has a temperament that is loyal, friendly, playful, alert, energetic, expressive and intelligent.

Pug OriginsPug

The Pug is one of the oldest breeds of dog since before 400 BC. The Pug Breed originated from China. Pugs were bred to be the companions of royalty.

Pug Standards

According to the Pug breed standards, they weighs from 14 to 18 pounds. Pugs are short-legged and they have a deep chest. Their coats comes in a variety of colours, most often fawn or black. Pugs have un-exaggerated wrinkled face. Their tail is curled tightly over the hip. Their ears are folded with the front edge against the side of the head. Their nails are black. Their life span is around 12 to 15 years.

Pug Temperament

The Pug has a temperament that is loyal, affectionnate, courageous, playful and intelligent.

I had gotten Bella Mae pug as a puppy so wild at 1 I wanted her to have a playmat searched out the Boston breed found Sadie on a rescue sight these two bonded right away, so did we. Love both breeds they’re a lot alike but different too. Both do tricks. Enjoying our life with them both
