Easy Peanut Butter Dog Treats Recipe – Boston Terrier Approved!

Here is an easy recipe to make some peanut butter dog treats at home. This is two Boston Terriers named June Bug and Penny who show us how to make Peanut Butter Treats for dogs! 🙂

Their owners says : “We’ve been trying to cut back on money spent on store-bought doggy treats so we decided to make our own. We made it super easy with minimal ingredients and tools. Gluten free, dairy free and egg free for those that have allergies.  You can easily swap out the flours for any flour you have in your pantry. June worked really hard narrating this video, hope you enjoy 🙂 “

• 1 cup corn flour
• 1/2 cup gluten free all purpose flour
• 1/4 cup quick oats
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
• 1/4 cup apple sauce
• 1/4 cup warm water
• plus water as needed to form the dough

Preheat oven to 350°F. Whisk flours, oats and baking powder in a large bowl, set aside. In a small bowl mix peanut butter, apple sauce and warm water (should be pudding-like). Pour wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until it becomes doughy or you can’t really stir anymore. Kneed into a ball of dough with your hands, adding water if it’s too dry. It should have a texture similar to Play-Dough. Not so wet that it sticks to your hands and not so dry that it crumbles.

Place onto parchment paper or a clean counter top sprinkled with flour. I prefer to place between two pieces of parchment. Roll until about a 1/4 inch thick or desired thickness. Be sure it’s even throughout. Cut into a grid using a pizza cutter, or if you prefer, cut into shapes using your favourite cookie cutter. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. We prefer ours slightly chewy. If you would like a crunchier cookie we recommend you bake at a lower temperature for a longer time. Let cool before serving.
